How to Use
1. Scrub (Before Washing): Start by exfoliating. This helps exfoliate and remove dead skin cells, creating a smooth canvas for an even tan. We recommend our Turbinado Brown Sugar Scrub. The oils in the scrub can provide additional moisture to prep your skin.
2. Wash Your Skin: After exfoliating, wash your skin with a gentle cleanser. This will help remove any remaining scrub residue, excess oils, and ensure your skin is clean and ready for the tanning lotion. We recommend our Daily Moisturizing Body Wash.
3. Even Application: Squeeze a generous amount of the lotion onto your palm. Start with a modest amount and apply more as needed. Focus on one section at a time, working it into your skin for thorough coverage.
4. Blend Carefully: Pay special attention to areas prone to uneven tanning, such as elbows, knees, ankles, and the backs of your hands. Use sparingly on these areas for a natural, blended look.
5. Allow Time to Dry: Allow the lotion to air dry for a about 10-15 minutes before dressing. Avoid contact with water or excessive sweating during this time.
6. Wash Hands: After application, thoroughly wash your hands and nails to prevent any unintended staining or use a glove.
7. Setting Time: Once you've completed the application, wait at least 8 hours, or preferably longer, before taking a shower.

Product arrived in timely fashion. Using this product is best when wearing some type of plastic glove - no streaks, and no messy hands. This product really applies nicely and works fast - looks like I have been at the beach for a week in the sun with just a few applications. I have a medium tan skin tone and I love the way my skin looks when it's tanned. Since I live up north, I can't really lay out in the sun all the time and I absolutely hate tanning beds. Absolutely love this stuff! I have used other self-tanners that leave my skin a terrible orange color. This tanner came through the mail extremely fast and when I opened the product it smells like lemons and oranges. I am already naturally tan but I love the extra color I get from this self-tanner. I have been using this JN Self-Tanner for Dark Tones for a couple of weeks and it is the best tanner I have ever tried.It is very effective. You get an attractive natural looking tan that lasts for days. I reapply this product every two to three days to maintain the color. It is great for sensitive skin and does not break me out. I suggest following the directions and apply the lotion to your rougher areas like your knees, elbows, wrist and ankle for smooth even results.

I have olive tone skin but my legs have a difficult time getting tan. This lotion has become the only product I self-tan with. It gives me the most natural tan and if I want a lighter color I can just mix it with my regular body moisturizer. I saw that my tan developed within 6 hours( the usual work day for me).The texture is very light but not runny and has a nice lemon citrus scent. sunless tanning
Well. I am 65 years old with appropriately dry skin. I gave up sunless tanners years ago. They smelled, streaked, and if an acceptable color the stuff rubbed off on clothing and bed sheets. Well I tried this stuff, followed exfoliation instructions and slathered it on my legs and arms. Then washed my hands thoroughly. It did moisturize my skin! The scent was nice. No color until the following morning. Very light tan, so I slathered on some more, with gloves this time and really rubbed it in. That afternoon I was evenly and lightly tan, not orange. Now my sun-damaged legs pick up the staining and get extra dark, but when it the right color of a freckle- spot it looks fine. Natural. There is a slight scent of the tanning chemical but quite acceptable. I am very happy with this product and wish they packed larger quantities. Good job!! I recommend the product. Just follow instructions. Enjoy wearing shorts this summer!

The BEST Self tanner ever!
This is by far the BEST self tanner I have ever used! It's super easy to apply, as it rubs on just like a lotion does, and it does not streak or look splotchy! I love how the ingredients are natural and cruelty-free, and there is only a small scent. I typically sleep with it on and shower off in the morning, and never have it transfer onto my bedding. Do yourself a favor and purchase this!

I cannot brag on this sunless tanner enough! I've used it for over 5 years now, and it never disappoints! My skin tone is medium and the Dark Tones is perfect for when I begin layering a bit of color on 1 to 2 times in the Spring, until I use it 2 to 3 times a week for full on color in the summer. Plus, it's a gorgeous tan color, no oranges here and no staining or odor! I use plastic gloves for application, but they aren't necessary. No one believes my color is a sunless tan and I get lots of compliments. At age 57, I'll never use anything else!
